1201 is a 15-story, 285,000 square foot Class A office tower located at the gateway to the Gulch and downtown Nashville. 

Hawkins Partners was responsible for the design and detailing of the amenity deck and streetscape, and also worked closely with the design team to secure Metro approvals related to the street setback, pedestrian realm, and building location.

The owner desired for the amenity deck to be an extension of the office space, and provide spaces for individual workers and everyday office meetings. However, it would also serve as an event terrace for company gatherings, celebrations and parties. The amenity deck design compliments the form and structure of the architecture while providing intimacy, diversity and flexibility within the occupiable spaces. Located to capture the striking downtown views, the amenity deck quickly became one of the features that captured future tenants. Alongside the business and social functions of the space, the expansive green roof provides visual relief of the urban context with 57% of the roof being planted with a mix of trees, grasses, perennials, and sedums.
