Kim Hartley Hawkins

Founding Principal / FASLA

Kim is a founding Principal of Hawkins Partners, Inc. (HPI), a landscape architecture and planning firm based in Nashville, Tennessee.  Kim’s commitment is to cultivate community through thoughtful, informed design that enhances the human experience.  She holds a degree in landscape architecture from Louisiana State University. 

 

Kim has been an active part of the community throughout her career.  Notably, Kim was the founding president of the Nashville Civic Design Center in 2000 and has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the University of Tennessee College of Architecture Board of Advisors, the Conservation Commission for the State of Tennessee, Mayor Dean’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, First Horizon Bank Advisory Committee and several arts related boards. She is the current Governance Chair and outgoing District Chair of the 800 member Urban Land Institute – Nashville and a member of Leadership Nashville class of 2002.  Kim has been named as a top 100 Power Leader in Nashville for several years.

 

Hawkins Partners, Inc. has extensive and award-winning experience in green infrastructure and sustainable site planning and design in the southeast region, including Riverfront Park and Ascend Amphitheater, the Nashville Yards development, Fifth and Broad mixed use development, Huntsville’s MidCity Amphitheater and the Bonnaroo Master Plan.  HPI led the Metro Nashville Parks and Greenways Master Plan and was a team member for Downtown Master Plans for Nashville’s SoBro, Greenville, South Carolina and Huntsville, Alabama.
