Hawkins Partners was involved in this project since its earliest stages and worked with the owner and local government during the site planning process to conform to the recently adopted UDO requirements for the area, which promote pedestrian connections and walkability. During the design process for this retail/office redevelopment, HPI also worked with the client to provide a significant increase in green space over the pre-development conditions. HPI also served as liaison between the client and Metro Green-ways to incorporate pedestrian connections to the adjacent greenway.
During the construction document phase HPI collaborated with the civil engineer and several sustainable features were incorporated - including a cistern that collects roof water and condensate to provide irrigation for the site, 3 large bio retention areas and an infiltration trench.
