Deaderick Street

Deaderick Street, Tennessee’s first ‘green street’, connects the State Legislative Plaza to the Metro Courthouse and Public Square, resulting in a very strong civic axis both physically and symbolically. As a result of the relocation of the MTA transit hub into the Music City Center, Deaderick Street has be-come the recipient of a multi-  million-dollar renovation. The infrastructure improvements lay the groundwork for future public/private partnerships aimed at transforming this corridor into a thriving retail/residential location.

The site improvements incorporate many sustainable elements such as: porous pavement, locally manufactured tree grates, infiltration zones/bioswales, LED lighting, recycled materials, native plants and high-efficiency irrigation systems.
